NCI temperature effects

Temperature effects adjust tree growth based on mean annual temperature.

Note: If these effects are used with NCI Mortality, the time period unit for parameters must match the value specified in the NCI Parameter Period (years) parameter.

Weibull temperature effect

Parameters

Weibull Temperature Effect "A"The A parameter for the temperature effect. The effect is based on mean annual temperature in degrees Celsius.
Weibull Temperature Effect "B"The B parameter for the temperature effect. The effect is based on mean annual temperature in degrees Celsius.
Weibull Temperature Effect "C"The C parameter for the temperature effect. The effect is based on mean annual temperature in degrees Celsius.

How it works

Temperature Effect is calculated as:

TE = Weibull climate growth temperature effect equation

where:

  • A is the Weibull Temperature Effect "A" parameter
  • B is the Weibull Temperature Effect "B" parameter
  • C is the Weibull Temperature Effect "C" parameter
  • T is the plot's annual mean temperature, in degrees Celsius, as entered for the Plot

Double logistic temperature effect

Parameters

Double Logistic Temp Effect "al"The al parameter for the temperature effect. The effect is based on mean annual temperature in degrees Kelvin.
Double Logistic Temp Effect "bl"The bl parameter for the temperature effect. The effect is based on mean annual temperature in degrees Kelvin.
Double Logistic Temp Effect "cl"The cl parameter for the temperature effect. The effect is based on mean annual temperature in degrees Kelvin.
Double Logistic Temp Effect "ah"The ah parameter for the temperature effect. The effect is based on mean annual temperature in degrees Kelvin.
Double Logistic Temp Effect "bh"The bh parameter for the temperature effect. The effect is based on mean annual temperature in degrees Kelvin.
Double Logistic Temp Effect "ch"The ch parameter for the temperature effect. The effect is based on mean annual temperature in degrees Kelvin.

How it works

Temperature Effect is calculated as:

Double logistic climate growth temperature effect equation

where:

  • al is the Double Logistic Temp Effect "al" parameter
  • bl is the Double Logistic Temp Effect "bl" parameter
  • cl is the Double Logistic Temp Effect "cl" parameter
  • ah is the Double Logistic Temp Effect "ah" parameter
  • bh is the Double Logistic Temp Effect "bh" parameter
  • ch is the Double Logistic Temp Effect "ch" parameter
  • T is the plot's annual mean temperature, in degrees Kelvin. This is calculated from the value in degrees C in the Plot
